  • About two months ago, the Sorrento team started analyzing hundreds of antibodies from their library and found about a dozen that blocked the virus that leads to COVID-19 from infecting human cells. Now, from that dozen, they say they’ve found one that is 100% effective after a period of four days of incubation.
  • Belgium tops the world with the most deaths proportionally to their COVID-19 cases, with an observed case-fatality ratio of 16.4%. And with a population of just 11.5 million, Belgium has the most deaths in terms of its population with 78 deaths per 100,000 people.

Number of new cases continue to be under 3 digits but its not decreasing as much as we want. Perhaps this virus will not be gone from our community until we build herd immunity towards it like other viruses such the flu.

The death toll now stands at 93, an increase of three since yesterday. All of the deaths have occured in the Western Cape. Recoveries are 2073 and tests conducted are 184497.
  • Singapore reports 690 new cases bringing the total to 15641. A total of 5 new cluster were identified as well.

Day 33 MCO – CCP Virus COVID-19 Malaysia 19th April Update

We hope to see a lower daily increase in number of new cases in Malaysia, it really seems that the lockdown is working as it should be, however the idea of it dropping down to zero is virtually none.

Day 30 MCO – 16th April Malaysia Update

It’s day 2 of MCO Phase 3, it has also been 30 days since the lockdown began. Things has gotten better yesterday with recovered cases almost doubling the new case count. Ramadan or the Muslim holy month of fasting will be starting next weekend. It seems that the number of cases will have a hard time dropping down to zero without mass testing and isolating those with high risks. The government has tested over 80 thousand people but still has yet to acquire a method to perform mass testing, I’m just trying to state the fact, not stirring shit up because if we really do want daily new cases to drop to zero before the vaccine, this is the only way.

MAIN UPDATES

  • +110 > 5182 Total Confirmed Cases
  • +1 > 84 Deaths
  • +119 > 2766 recovered (53.4%)

  • More than 90k people are tested, only 5.4% are positive

The supposed last day of the MCO has arrived, now we officially have 14 more days to go, but some rumors even claim that we have at least another 14 days after 28th April if the number of cases do not decrease to zero.
