MCO Question of the day: Are the numbers from COVID even accurate? It seems that the number of cases rise with the number of tests, the virus spreads regardless. We are finding out that the virus isn’t all bad to majority of the people anyways.

  • The first suspected COVID-19 case in France dates back to 16 November. Doctors at the Albert Schweitzer Hospital in Eastern France conducted a retrospective study on all the 2,456 chest scans done in their hospital between November 1 and April 30.
  • 107-year-old great grandmother, Saltanat Akbari, becomes the oldest person in Iran to beat COVID-19. See, this virus ain’t that bad, eventho it’s a single case, this shows that age isn’t a factor of weakness, having diabetes is worse than being old.
  • Iran has reported 2,180 new COVID-19 cases and 58 new deaths, raising the country’s total to 135,701 with 7,417 confirmed deaths.

Day 65 MCO – 21st May Malaysia CCP Virus COVID-19 Update

  • New cluster is found at Bukit Jalil, 645 people are sampled, 35 are positive, where all are foreigners.

  • There are 45 labs capable of testing for SARS-Cov2, 27,573 is the daily testing capacity, however 27,998 samples were tested yesterday.
Due to the pandemic, the government will be cancelling all official events in 2020.
  • Apparently if you haven’t gotten a letter from the police station to travel inter-state for the Raya, you can’t now.
  • A Malaysian had been sentenced to death over Zoom in Singapore for having heroin. It sucks that some drugs are illegal and some are legal, who has the final say? (Source)
  • There are 900k expected vehicles daily in PLUS highways as people go home for Raya. (Source)

Singapore school students are to return to school in stages where pupil of different cohorts, those are graduating soon will be prioritized.
  • S’pore schools will reopen with staggered sessions from June 2. Priority will be given to graduating cohorts.
  • Singapore confirmed 448 new cases of Covid-19 today (May 21), bringing the total to 29,812.
  • Indonesian healthcare workers get pay cut as many hospitals are spending lots to prepare for the pandemic outbreak but the occupancy rate remain to be low. Sounds like bad planning to me. (Source)

Now, from that dozen, they say they’ve found one that is 100% effective after a period of four days of incubation.

  • KKM again tells parents to not bring their kids out if they don’t have to. But I think kids are way more equipped in terms of immune strength and potentiality to develop an immune response. Spreading the virus when the medical facilities are overprepared and underutilized is the best time to do so. However, sadly, we think that hiding our heads inside the sand can solve all problems. Day 61 MCO – 17th May Malaysia CCP Virus COVID-19 Update

Another day another dollar. New reported cases are getting lower and lower as even though the number of testing has remained steady. This is a good sign in handling the pandemic, however I am skeptical that the scientific community will be able to produce a vaccine in a year and half while we are 17 years away from the SARS epidemic and we still have zero knowledge regarding producing a viable vaccine.

Its the weekend again. Another weekend where most wouldn’t even notice it’s the weekend. Looking at the new numbers today, I’d say it is time to reopen the economy so most people can regain their health instead of staying in deteriorating our health.

  • The FDA has halted the work of an innovative coronavirus testing program widely touted by the likes of Bill Gates and public health officials.

Traffic around Klang Valley has increased on my way to and from work today. Things are picking up, people are seen going out and about jogging at public parks. It’s refreshing to see things go back to normal after all these debacle that affects people who doesn’t take care of their health and diet.
